    You may use this form to file an objection of your Fair Market Value, Special Use Value, Assessed Value, report natural disaster damage, or Denial of the special assessment ratio. Taxes cannot be appealed.

    Filing an appeal does NOT relieve the taxpayer of their responsibility to pay property taxes on time.

    If you are completing this form on behalf of your client, you will need to provide our offfice with a recently signed Power of Attornery, completed by the owner of record and notarized. Our Power of Attorney form maybe found at: Assessor Power of Attorney. It may be attached to this appeal as a supporting document or mailed to the PO Box listed above, attention Appeal Coordinator. If a Power of Attorney is not received, the appeal may be considered abandoned.

    Be prepared to complete this form in its entirety. A * indicates required information. 

    Before you begin: you will need the Real Property parcel identification number (PIN, example R100 000 00A 0100 000A) and alternate identification number (AIN, example 999999999) for the parcel you are appealing. Both can be found on the most recent Beaufort County Assessment Notice or Real Property Tax Bill. Alternatively, you can obtain real property information by searching by the property owners name at http://sc-beaufort-county.governmax.com/svc/

    THIS FORM MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE BEAUFORT COUNTY ASSESSOR'S OFFICE NO LATER THAN JANUARY 15, OR WITHIN NINETY (90) DAYS OF THE DATE OF ASSESSMENT NOTICE, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST, OF THE CURRENT TAX YEAR TO APPEAL THE APPRAISED VALUE.

    UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 12-60-2510-2560, CODES OF LAWS OF SC 1976, I HERBY APPEAL THE APPRAISAL /ASSESSMENT /RATIO/ USE VALUE FOR THE PARCEL LISTED ABOVE.
